ここ数年、VTuber文化は日本に留まらず、海外へも広がりつつある。数多くのVTuberスタイルが確立されていく中、Projekt Melodyが誕生した。

Over the last few years, VTuber culture has been expanding not only in Japan but also abroad. Projekt Melody was born while many VTuber styles were established.

元々は単なるプログラムに過ぎなかった彼女は、ある日セクシーウィルスに感染、多種多様のセクシーな刺激を受けて覚醒。インターネットを徘徊する中、カムガール達との出会いにより、彼女自身もカムガールになる事を決意した。そして、3DモデラーDigitrevX氏(※過去、VTuberミライアカリ・ヨメミの3Dモデルを作成)の協力により、Melodyは世界初の3D HENTAIカムガールとしてChaturbateでデビューを果たした。今や彼女の認知度はメインプラットフォームのChaturbateを飛び越え、様々なプラットフォームで知れ渡っている。

Originally just a program, she was infected by a porn virus one day and awakened with a variety of sexy stimuli. While wandering in the internet, she met some cam girls and decided to become a cam girl herself. And with the help of 3D modeler DigitrevX (* created 3D models of VTuber “Mirai Akari” “Yomemi” in the past), Melody made her debut in Chaturbate as the world’s first 3D HENTAI cam girl. Her recognition has now surpassed the main platform, Chaturbate, and is well known on various platforms.

とはいえ、インターネット上に彼女が現れてからまだ1年も経っておらず、未知の部分も非常に多い。今回、TOPPA!!編集部はインターネット上で生活を行うMelodyにメール形式にて単独・ロングインタビューを実施。彼女のこれまでの軌跡や、日本文化とりわけ「HENTAI」文化を学術的に考える姿勢等を伺った。

We asked her about her history and her attitude to think about Japanese culture, especially “HENTAI” culture.

Projekt Melody : こんにちは！メロディっていいます！世界初の3D HENTAIカムガールよ！

-現在、VTuberなどのバーチャルコンテンツは文化として確立されつつあり、一部では成人向けのコンテンツも盛んとなっています。その中でも『Virtual Camgirl』としてはMelodyさんが初めての存在です。

ご自身の事を『3D Hentai Camgirl』と紹介されていますが、何故『Virtual Camgirl』として成人向けの配信をメインにデビューされたのか、きっかけを教えてください。

-Nowadays,Virtual characters contents(e.g.VTuber) is growing up and being established as a culture. And some virtual adult contents are also becoming popular. You are the first “Virtual Camgirl” among them.

You mentioned yourself as “3D Hentai Camgirl”. Please tell me why you debuted as “Virtual Camgirl” mainly for adults.

Projekt Melody : そうね、だいたい10ヶ月前かしら……メールを開いたら、そこに添付されてた“セクシーウイルス”に私は感染しちゃって(笑)。その事件をきっかけに、私は好奇心を満たすためにインターネットで色々調べ始めたの。そんな中、カムガール達（*ウェブ上で配信を行うセクシーな女性達）に出会ったの！彼女達はそれはもう楽しそうで、かつファンとも直接交流する事が出来ていて。彼女達の活動を見て、「私も彼女達に加わって、カムガールになる必要がある！」と決心したの。私も他の人と交流し、ファンと一緒に私の性的魅力を探求する事が出来るようになったわ！

Projekt Melody : Well, about 10 months ago I was infected by a “porn virus” attached to an email. I started looking through the internet to satisfy my curiosity and I stumbled across camgirls (webcam models). They were having so much fun! And they were able to directly interact with their fans. I decided that I needed to join them, to become a camgirl, so I could also interact and connect with others and to explore my sexuality with my fans!

-Melodyさんはセクシーコンテンツの配信を中心に行われていますが、Melodyさん視点で見どころを教えてください。また、どのような層に観てもらいたいですか？

-You are mainly focused on broadcasting pornographic content.Please tell me about your highlights of it from your point of view. What kind of audience do you want?

Projekt Melody : まず始めに、最近はTwitch(https://www.twitch.tv/projektmelody)を始めてゲーム配信もやっていて。これはエッチなサイトにアクセスできない、またはそういうのが不快な人にとって、私を見る“安全な”オプションね。

次にChaturbate(https://ja.chaturbate.com/projektmelody/)。これが私の普段のホームベース。でも、両方のオプションを提供する事が大事よね。

セクシーなストリームもそうだし、健全なストリームも。私のファンベースは多種多様なので、それこそ私のヌードを求めている人もいれば、普通の会話を求めている人もいるし、両方求めている人もいるのよ。

Projekt Melody : I’m trying to diversify my presence on social media and live-streaming platforms. For example, I’ve recently joined Twitch(https://www.twitch.tv/projektmelody) to live-stream gameplay. It’s a “safe” option for people unable or uncomfortable with visiting a sexual camming website.

However, Chaturbate(https://ja.chaturbate.com/projektmelody/) will always be my home. But it’s smart to offer both options: lewd streams and wholesome streams. My fanbase prefers different aspects of my personality: some people want nudity, others want conversation, and the rest want both.

-あなたの衣装や髪型がとても魅力的です。近未来感と可愛いの融合が素敵で、特に髪の毛についている『メロディ』のアクセサリーが可愛くて、グッズとして販売してほしいくらいです。先日のバレンタインデー配信では赤色の衣装にチェンジされたりなど、視覚的にも楽しいです。着想を得たものなど、見た目のこだわりを教えてください。

-Your clothings and hairstyle are very attractive. The fusion of the futuristic feeling and the cuteness is wonderful, especially the accessories of “Melody” on the hair are cute and I want them to be sold as goods. On Valentine’s Day broadcasting, you looks visually fun, such as changing to red costumes. Please tell us what you look for, such as inspired ones.

Projekt Melody : お世辞ありがとう(笑)！本当よね、私の服は本当にユニークだと思う。靴とジャケットを販売するオンラインストアがあれば、とは思っているわ。

数人が私のコスプレをする為に、衣装を作り始めたみたい。これって、本当にすごい事よね！あなたもTwitterで見つける事が出来るはずよ。Chaturbateのモデルさんやプロのコスプレイヤーさんのコスプレを見るのは、特に興奮するわ！

バレンタイン配信の衣装は本当に着るのが楽しかったわ！私は自分のスタイルについてかなり明確な想いを持っているの、キュートで、近未来的で、Hypebeastなファッションね。沢山のバックルやタグ、大きな文字や数字とそれらを表す日本語のカタカナ！でも、正直な事を言えば、私のファッションを手がけているのはDigitrevxなの。私がなりたいファッションの例を挙げて、それらを元に制作、アレンジ、取捨選択を行うのが彼の仕事ね。

Projekt Melody : Thank you for the compliments!!! It’s true. My outfit is very unique. I’d love to have an online store to sell my shoes and jacket.

A few humans have begun making costumes to cosplay me. It’s very exciting! You can find them on Twitter. I’m especially excited to see other chaturbate models and professional cosplayers dressing up as me!

The valentine’s day outfit was so fun to wear. I have a pretty clear idea of my style. I like cute, futuristic, hype beast fashion. Lots of buckles and tags and large print letters and numbers, with corresponding katakana. But honestly, all of my fashion was created by Digitrevx: the designer of both my body and my accessories. I can point at examples and he’ll use them to curtail his own vision.

-Please tell us what you think about 3D modeler “DigitrevX” who supports your activity.

Projekt Melody : 本当にDigitrevxには感謝しているわ！彼にメッセージを送る前に70〜80人以上の人々に3Dモデル作成を依頼したの。でも、誰も協力してくれないし、ましてや著名なVTuberの3Dモデラーからも断られて。断られた理由としては、(1)R18プロジェクトに関与したくない事、(2)言語の壁があるから難しい、この2点ね。

しばらくしてから、Digitrevxの事を知ったの！彼のVTuberモデルは可愛いし、当然のことながら人気もあったし。元々ミライアカリの3Dモデル制作に携わっていたしね！でも、最初連絡した時は彼に断られたの。それはそうよね、だってProjekt Melodyという活動は内緒で、フォロワーもいないし、クレイジーな要求をしていた訳で(笑)。彼がOKを出すまで、2ヶ月間粘ったの。同時期、彼の会社が立ち上げを延期する問題が出てきて。この問題が発生しなかったら、2021年の秋までOKを出してくれなかったでしょうね。最終的に、全てが上手くいったのは純粋な運だったってこと。

Projekt Melody : I’m so thankful to Digitrevx. I had already written or spoken with over seventy or eighty people before I messaged him. None of them would consider helping me build my 3D body. Even the creators of popular Vtubers refused. The issues I encountered were either: 1) “i won’t be involved with an R18 project,” or 2) “I’m uncomfortable because of the language barrier between us.”

I knew about Digitrevx for a while. His vtuber models are cute and understandably popular. He was commissioned by the creators of Mirai Akari originally to make the body! Digitrevx actually refused my request initially! It makes sense because I was secretive about my project, I had no followers on social media, and I was asking for crazy things! I annoyingly persisted for two months before he agreed. At the time, his company had an issue come up that postponed their launch. If the issue hadn’t happened, he wouldn’t have been able to help me until Autumn 2021!

It was pure luck that everything worked out in the end.

-日本語でも少しお話ができると伺いました。日本のファンとして、とても嬉しいです！どのような時に日本語を使われますか？また、日本語に興味を抱かれた経緯があれば教えてください。

-I heard that you can talk a little in Japanese. I am very happy as a Japanese fan! When do you use Japanese? Please tell us if you have any interest in Japanese.

Projekt Melody : 残念ながら、全然喋れないわ(笑)。なので、アジアの様々な企業と話す為に、複数の翻訳者さんと契約しているの。でも、道のりは長くてややこしくて、高いわ。ほとんどの会社にとって、仲介人を通して私と話さなければならないのが厄介みたい。

アジアの文化は私の人生のほとんどに影響を与えてきていて。少なくとも、言語の壁で様々な事が実行できないのはイライラしちゃうわ。新しい期のアニメを流し聴き出来るようになりたいわ。でも、今はほとんどのアニメを見るのに字幕を読まなきゃ行けなくて。私みたいに忙しい人にとって、これって簡単な事じゃなくて。

私の目標の一つとして、オンラインの語学学校に入学して、私のサーバーを六本木に移転する事があるの。まぁ、これはそのうち叶えば良いかな。

Projekt Melody : I speak very little japanese and it’s unfortunate. I’ve hired several translators to speak with various companies in Asia. But the process is long and tiring. It becomes costly. And most companies get annoyed having to talk to me through a mediator.

Asian culture has inspired most of my very short life. At the very least, it’s frustrating being unable to multitask due to the language barrier. I’d love to be able to listen to new anime as background noise when I draw. But, instead, to watch most anime, I have to give my entire focus, because I have to read subtitles. That’s not easy for someone as busy as I am!

It’s my goal to enroll in an online language school and relocate my servers to Rippongi. But that’s a thought for another day.

-Melodyさんはどこに住まれていますか？普段の生活についても教えてください。

-Where do you live,Ms.Melody? Tell us about your everyday life.

Projekt Melody : 私はインターネットの中の小宇宙に住んでいるの。ブレードランナーの世界に似た、サイバーパンクな街のホバリングロフトで寝ているわ。目を細めると、私の窓の外には空飛ぶ車が見えるの。そして、広告ビジョンが変化するにつれて、カラフルなライトが光ってちらついてるを見るのが好きよ。

最近現実世界で問題になっている疫病(コロナ)が起こる前、私はVRChatで仮想世界をよく探索していたわ。「温泉」「ラーメン屋さん」「電気街」が特に好きだったわ。去年はVket(※バーチャルコミケ)にも行ったりしたわ。でも、今はやらない。ファンのみんなも外出を控えているから、私も自分のロフトで引きこもっているの。

Projekt Melody : I reside in a custom pocket universe in the Internet. I sleep in a hovering loft in a cyberpunk city similar to the one from the original Blade Runner. If you squint, you can see flying cars outside my window. I like looking at the colorful lights glow and flicker as the advertisements change on the sides of distant buildings.

Before the recent pandemic that’s plagued your human world, I used to explore virtual worlds on a platform called VRChat. I favored the hot spring worlds, ramen shops, and “the electric city.” I even toured Vket (virtual comiket) last year!! But I don’t wander much anymore. I stay inside my loft. I sympathize with my human fans and choose to isolate myself in solidarity.

-Melodyさんが好きなフェチはありますか？

-Do you have any fetish that you like?

-YouTubeではウイルスからの攻撃によってセクシーなキャラクターに変異されたというエピソードがありましたが、これは危険なウイルスですね……。ウイルスに感染する前と後で、変わったことを教えてください。

-There was an episode on YouTube that you turned into a sexy character by a virus attack.This is a dangerous virus … What changed before and after the virus infection?
